Fire Up Awards at NCCC

At New Covenant Christian Church we had the Fire Up Awards for all the kids involved.   Fire up is a weekly after school program in the Lansing Public School District.  Currently we meet at Cavanaugh Elementary School on Mondays and Wainwright Elementary School on Fridays.  It is a fun, high energy program that teaches character and leads people unashamedly to Jesus.  The original Fire Up Friday started at Allen Street School which is unfortunately now closed.  I was involved with Fire Up Friday when is first started back in the day, it's an awesome program for kids to be involved in.  The awards varied from good attendance to most volunteered.  I loved watching all the families and their kids involved excited for their accomplishments. It was really nice to have this ceremony held during the regular church service.  Afterwards we all gathered and had an awesome fellowship meal!

Chavonna Graduates at MSU

Chavonna is a 2011 graduate of MSU, so what better way to remember graduation than with photos!  We went around a few places on MSU campus.  We started out with the statue of Sparty of course, then went to the Red Cedar River which is great for strolling by, and then to the student resources building which she spent much time at.  If we could've fit more place in we definitely would have, MSU campus is beautiful!  The first photo was candid and is one of my favorites,  I took it when I was adjusting my camera, I love those kind of photos! Chavonna is now an intern at Pregnancy Services in Lansing, which is awesome! My mom worked there when I was younger for quite awhile, she helped a lot of women, and now Chavonna can have that opportunity.  Congrats on graduating!

Mitten Mavens Dublin Header Part 2

So this is Part 2 of the Mitten Maven's Dublin Header from back in March.  I'm a little backed up with blogging, but I'm slowly catching up.  This bout occurred right after the Mitten Mavens bout, it was really exciting to watch! This was a mixture of Roller Derby refs  in I believe the Mid-Michigan area.  If you weren't there to see this I'm sorry! It was Roller Derby on steroids! Everything was much faster and the guys fell harder.  There was even some blood split! Sorry, I didn't want to get a photo of blood.  I don't remember who won but it was a pretty close game the whole time.  If they have another bout like this I would definitely go again.

Dziewiatkowski Family Session

This is the first time I've had the Dziewiatkowski family over for a photo session. We actually made it a double session with the Baumgart family and it worked out perfectly.  Shalyn was a pleasure to photography, she was really sweet  and fun! Her brother Tate was just as nice too, they did so well together.  I captured some photos of them smiling nicely at the camera but I just loved the one I took above, it's just them naturally being brother and sister together.  They were a lovely family altogether!

The Dyke Family

So I know I went a little crazy with the photos but I just had way too much fun with this session! This was an in home session, I went over to the Dyke's house and they just hung out together.  They started out playing the classic came 'Shoots and Ladders' then we went outside on the random beautiful day and played around.  I'm so glad I got to photograph them, it was fun capturing all these sweet moments.

Baumgart Family

The Baumgart Family came for a family studio session for sweet Laraia turning one year old!  I can't believe it's been one whole year, I remember when she was just a few weeks old.  It was really fun with them, Laraia had 3 pretty little dresses to wear, very spring themed of course.  I took a whole bunch of shots showing off her big, pretty, blue eyes, it's hard not too :-)  I love the shot of Laraia and daddy, it's just too precious.  And the shot with Laraia and mommy is so sweet as well, plus Annemarie has such a beautiful smile in this photo.
