I had such a good time with my old friends! I know my title says the big Smith/Jones family but they aren't all the Smiths yet! Carol and Dana are both engaged and will be Smiths soon, It's so exciting! I have known Amanda (now Jones) and the Smith family since I was in kindergarten! It was such a perfect day. The sky was slightly overcast so the lighting was about perfect and it wasn't too hot either. We took photos of each separate family, all the girls, sisters, brothers, boys, etc. We covered it all! Of course I took some candids, they are my fav! I am mostly glad I had this session with them because my friend Amanda Jones and her family just moved away not long after this. I'm so going to miss them!

The Lantz Family
It was so much fun taking photos of the Lantz family! The Lantz family is about to go to Africa to be missionaries there indefinitely, so I had them bring their African drums with them to incorporate into the photos. I love their family photos, they are such a cute family. The picture of the boys beating on the drums together is just priceless! The majority of the photo session was for sweet little Eliza, she is 8-9 weeks old right here. It was so much fun with her, she's so cute and has the prettiest eyes! I'm glad I got to take their photos before they leave.

Steve Miller, investigative reporter
About a month ago I received a call from Rich Tupica from the City Pulse to do a last minute shoot of Steve Miller for Rich's article on Steve's new book coming out. Steve Miller is an investigative reported at Texas Watchdog and has 18 years experience in daily newspaper and magazine reporting and writing. Miller has covered countless murder cases and trials. He has been a reporter of such cases for People Magazine, Washington Times and other noted magazines and newspapers. He is also the former vocalist of the punk rock band called The Fix. My husband took much interest in that fact since he used to be way into the start of punk rock back in the day. Rich wrote this article mainly focusing on Miller's new book coming out called 'Girl, Wanted'. After spending an hour with Steve to take his portrait I found him to be a very awesome guy, easy to talk to and very interesting. The photo on top is the photo feature in the article. The article Rich wrote on Steve Miller can be found at this link: http://npaper-wehaa.com/citypulse/#2011/08/10/s2/?article=1351774
Kaitlyn and Tyler's Wedding
Kaitlyn and Tyler's wedding was up in Sault Ste. Marie and Brimley. The Ceremony was right at the Locks in front of the fountain and the reception was at a hall in Brimley. It was a beautiful day with some white fluffy clouds on a blue sky! We took photos around the park at the Locks then we went to Brimley at this spot that rocks jut out onto the lake. We took some fun group photos like the one where we convinced the groomsmen to climb the tree and one with all the girls sticking their heads out on the bus! Such a good idea to get a party bus! I loved all the details they had at their reception too, with the lollipop with their name on it and all the different spots for their rings. The dancing was of course very precious, you could tell Kaitlyn and Tyler and their family loved each other.

ReLoved Designs at Folkfest
Folkfest was at East Lansing a few weekends ago. I got to help Rebecca Douglas with her ReLoved Designs booth. ReLoved Designs is founded on the concept that “one man’s trash is another man’s treasure” but as it’s developed it’s gone much further than that. ReLoved Designs takes what is
unwanted, unattractive, unloved, useless, and doomed; and give it another chance to shine. It was a pretty fun time, I would definitely go next year. There was a lot of good food and cool bands playing. There was even a little square dancing going on, I would've joined in if I had a partner of course. You can find ReLoved Designs at this link: http://www.reloveddesigns.com/

Fata Family and Relatives
It was so nice meeting the Fata family and the rest of the family! They were all very nice and fun to take portraits of! I went to the Fata's house and we shot right outside. It was quite a hot and humid day so we took a few breaks inside with the air conditioning. But these are my favorite shots of the session. The little girls Madelyn, Franchesca, and Adah were just so adorable! And I was of course super excited they added their dog into the mix, I looove dogs! It'll be a pleasure to take their photos again sometime for sure.
